UKUZIVOCAVOCA nokudla ngendlela efanele kungenza umehluko ekulweni nesifo senhliziyo
KUGQUGQUZELWA abantu ukuthi banakekele inhliziyo baqikelele nokuthi abazibeki engozini yokuthi bahlaselwe yizifo eziyimbelesela ezaziwa ngama-non communicable diseases (NCDs).

Njengoba le nyanga kungeyokugqugquzela abantu ukuthi banakekele inhliziyo bagweme nokuzibeka engozini yokuthi bahlaselwe yisifo senhliziyo, inhlangano eqwashisa ngesifo sohlangothi nesenhliziyo, iHeart and Stroke Foundation South Africa (HSFSA), seyinxuse abantu ukuthi bangasithathi kancane isifo senhliziyo.

Ngokusho kwale nhlangano balinganiselwa ku-17.7 million abantu abashona ngenxa yesifo senhliziyo unyaka nonyaka emhlabeni wonke okuyinto eshaqisa kakhulu.

Kuleli balinganiselwa ku-43% abantu abashona ngenxa yezifo ezidalwa yindlela yokuphila.

Kulaba * -18% ubulawa yisifo senhliziyo. Kukholakala ukuthi eNingizimu Afrika bangu-82 000 abantu abashona ngenxa yezinkinga zenhliziyo njalo ngonyaka.

Abe-HSFSA bathi kunezinto ezingenziwa abantu ukugwema ukuzibeka engozini enkulu yokuhlaselwa yisifo senhliziyo.

Okunye kwalokhu okungenziwa ukwehlisa amathuba okungenwa yisifo senhliziyo yilokhu:

* Ukuqikelela ukuthi udla ukudla okunempilo nokungenawo amafutha amaningi

* Ukuvocavoca umzimba

* Ukwehlisa ekubhemeni nasophuzweni oludakayo

Abantu abasengozini yokuba nalesi sifo ngenxa yokuba khona komuntu onaso emndenini kubalulekile ukuthi bazinakekele ngokweqile ngoba uma bengazinakekeli bazibeka engozini kakhulu.

USolwazi Pamela Naidoo oyisikhulu seHSFSA, unxuse abantu ukuthi bakukhuthalele ukuhlola ukuze babone ukuthi basengozini engakanani yokuba nezifo eziyimbelesela.

Uthe lokhu bangakwenza ngokuthi babheke umfutho wabo wegazi namazinga e-glucose egazini, babheke isisindo sabo somzimba namazinga e-iron nokunye.
