The Film and Publication Board (FPB) Appeal Tribunal has overturned the classification rating of 16 LS given to the film Inxeba – The Wound and gave it a rating of X18 with the classifiable elements of Sex, Language, Nudity, Violence and Prejudice.
Noma bekunezikhalo ngale filimu esiqoqe izindondo ezingaphezulu kuka-30 emhlabeni, nemali elinganiselwa kuR1.3 million ema-cinema kuleli, ezinkundleni zokuxhumana abantu basigxekile isinqumo seFPB abanye bebuza ukuthi amafilimu e50 Shades wona adlalwa kanjani ekubeni eveza ucansi nawo.
We strongly condemn the Film & Publication Board Appeal Tribunal’s decision re-classify the film #Inxeba to a rating of X18.
"X18 is one of the most severe ratings a film or publication can receive, one step away from an outright ban." - @zilevandammehttps://t.co/k7l6NV2lLD
The 50 shades franchise has over 20 times the number of sex scenes than #Inxeba, and shows a whole lot more nudity, but it doesn't get a X18 rating, no. It has to play in all the cinemas in SA. Meanwhile a SAn movie.ARG 😭😷 https://t.co/oOK5gWXlnP
